Who we are:
We are a group of swing dancers that used to meet once a week to practice aerials,
and in general improve our swing dance technique.
The name came because the practice sessions started on Thursday nights (THURsday aeRIALS).
Is it a class?
No. Although we do end up teaching each other various moves, it is
primarily just a chance to practice moves that we've already
learned. Most of us have taken classes from Rob Wilson
Gee that looks dangerous
It is. Children, we're trained amatuers, don't try this at home. We take great care to be safe and to always practice with spotters. Even so, things can go wrong. We strongly reccomend that before you try this, you take classes from a professional instructor.
When and where is the practice?
That's a really good question. We're looking for a new site.
How do I find out more?
lrc@red4est.com, also you can sign up for the mailing list on
yahoogroups by going to

Do you have any instructional material?:
Nope, but we do have some notes online to help us remember what we
learned and figured out:
Constructive comments and feedback on our notes are almost always
appreciated.
I went through notes from classes to collect some pointers about swing dancing.

Notes from Patty:
(Larry: Ive also changed the term lifter to base because the whole point of aerials is that you use each others timing, energy and momentum. This way the guys dont think they have to muscle the followers about. If I could think of another word for lifts, I would have used it!)
As a note: for convenience the base/leader is assumed to be male and the flyer/follower is female.
